FMITI to move to its new Headquarter soon- Minister.
The Honourable Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Dr. Doris Anite-Uzoka has met with the Top Management of FMITI at the Bank of Industry Headquarter Abuja, today In her remarks , the Honourable Minister assured the Ministry Management Staff that FMITI plans to move to its new office is on course.
At the meeting she said “I want to assure everybody that our plans to move to our new site is on course as soon as the partitioning and furnishing is done subject to budget readiness”;
She stated that the Ministry will excel in its three focused agenda including reforming the economy to sustain inclusive growth , accelerating the industrialization to digital economy and job creation.
Anite advised the directors saying “every initiative you undertake must be meticulously crafted towards economy revitalisation and employment for our citizens”
Earlier the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Amb. Nura Rimi in his opening remarks said “Directors who are here are responsible for articulation and effective implementation of the Ministry’s mandate with the Honourable Minister particularly the eight (8) priority areas of the administration”
He said that the Ministry is blessed because the present administration focuses more on our Ministry than any other in the country, at least the six priority areas of the national agenda are vested in this Ministry”
The maiden meeting was an interactive forum where the Directors of the Ministry gave account of their respective Departments one after the other.
The highlights of the meeting includes : Priority areas of Presidential deliverables in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the current government, major successes till date and target for 2024 which cut across the agencies under the Ministry.
Some of the achievements of the Ministry mentioned by the Directors include ratification of trade agreements with four countries and ongoing negotiation with Nertherland and Oatar towards a succesful trade agreement, Collaborations with Ministries of Health and Agriculture in the area of drug production and Fertilisers, verification of weighing equipment for trade purposes, maintainance of best practices in non oil sector in production of commodities and goods, bringing Investors to invest in critical areas of the economy and removing barriers for free flow of goods and services into the country.
